Contents of the 5 lessons in book one, “Basic Obedience Training”

Lesson One, House Manners and Boundaries

These are the most important lessons because they are the foundation for all positive dog training behaviors. The five steps included in these lesson teach, 1)House Manners, use of the, 2) Long Line, 3)Attention, 4)Heel, and 5)Sit. When your dog learns the Attention lesson this Basic Obedience Training will provide positive corrections for most all the negative behaviors.

In order to successfully train your dog, the dog must have clear boundaries and it must have a leader that will use proven successful methods of training. It is our desire to give you the necessary skills for you to become your dogs leader.

Lesson Two, The Use of the Long Line

The purpose of the Long Line is to train your dog so that the natural progression of training will lead you to being able to work with your dog responding to you off the Long Line, using no leash.

Lesson Three, The Attention Lesson

This lesson used in proper sequence is the most important lesson of all lessons. This is the very foundation of all basic positive dog obedience training. (Do not skip ahead and teach this lesson before lessons one and two.) If you do not teach your dog to be attentive to you, you will likely not teach him any positive behaviors.

Lesson Four, Heel and Release Lesson

This will be your dogs first verbal command. This lessons teaches your dog to walk with you in a comfortable and orderly manner. Your dog will also learn how and when he is released from this command

Lesson Five, The Sit Lesson

You will now notice that your dog enjoys the discipline that comes with this training. Each lesson builds upon the previous lessons. You will be pleased as this lessons produces an automatic sit from your dog when you stop the Heel walking.
